  • only necessary permissions for management and support.
  • Intercept and TD SYNNEX have a Data Processing Agreement to ensure data integrity and confidentiality.
  • Microsoft remains a sub-processor, TD SYNNEX is added as an additional sub-processor.
  • Additional security options such as encryption, conditional access, and Security Control Services available via Intercept.

Next Steps
In the coming period, we will take several technical steps to ensure a smooth transition. Further communication will follow with detailed instructions.

Important: GDAP Permissions
To implement this change correctly, adjustments need to be made to GDAP permissions within your Microsoft environment. In a forthcoming communication, we will explain exactly which actions are required and how we can carry them out together in a safe and clear manner.

Timeline
The migration to the new structure via TD SYNNEX will proceed in steps: partnership introduction, GDAP adjustments, email confirmations, administrative CSP transfer, and final confirmation.

FAQ

WHY ARE THESE CHANGES NEEDED?

Moving to the Tier 2 CSP model with TD SYNNEX allows us to provide faster, more efficient support and give you access to enhanced services. By assigning the appropriate GDAP level for your customer type we help keep your environment secure while enabling Intercept to resolve issues more quickly.

Customers can also benefit from the ability to activate new features and improvements as soon as they are available, without unnecessary delays.

WHAT IS CHANGING?

We are moving from a Tier 1 CSP model (Intercept direct) to a Tier 2 CSP model (Intercept via TD SYNNEX).

In this new model, TD SYNNEX will work in partnership with Intercept to deliver your cloud services and provide enhanced support capabilities, including the ability to raise Microsoft support tickets on your behalf.

WILL MY COMMERCIAL AGREEMENTS CHANGE? No, discounts remain the same.
WILL INVOICING CHANGE? Only in the transition month with double lines; afterwards as usual.
WILL THERE BE ANY CHANGES IN THE CUSTOMER PORTAL? Customer Insights & Reservation insights
For the first 3 weeks Customer Insights (detailed consumption) & Reservations insights won’t be available
Self-service Licenses and Azure Subscription management
From the moment of migration till end of November/beginning of December it won’t be possible to maintain License and Azure subscription management via the customer portal. In case of any changes or additions a ticket needs to be created via TOPdesk.
WHAT DO I NEED TO DO? Confirm the email, accept reseller relationship, accept MCA.
I CANNOT ACCEPT THE RESELLER RELATIONSHIP INVITATION. If you are unable to complete the acceptance process yourself, Intercept can assist or even perform the acceptance on your behalf. Simply contact our support team via TOPdesk or reach out to your usual Intercept contact. We will guide you through the steps or handle the process for you to ensure a smooth transition.
WHAT HAPPENS TO MY AZURE COST MANAGEMENT DATA?

For each transfer, our automation creates a Resource Group "rg-cost-export-intercept". Within that resource group, a storage account is created which will contain Azure Cost Management export of the last 12 months.

WHAT IS THE Front-End Store AND HOW DOES IT BENEFIT CUSTOMERS? TD SYNNEX is launching a new Front-End Store for easy access to the marketplace. It will simplify ordering licenses, subscriptions, and reservations, offering a modern and user-friendly experience.
WHAT IS A SUBSCRIPTIONS TRANSFER? A subscription transfer in Microsoft Cloud Solution Provider (CSP) involves moving existing subscriptions, such as Microsoft 365 or Azure Plans, from one partner to another. This is an administrative process. There are no changes done to Azure Infrastructure or productivity suites such as Microsoft 365.
WILL MY SERVICES BE INTERRUPTED? No, the transition is seamless.
WHO IS MY CONTACT POINT? Intercept remains your primary partner.
HOW DO I KNOW THE TRANSITION IS COMPLETE? You will receive notifications and may see both partners in your Microsoft account.
WHY ARE THERE THREE PARTNER RECORDS IN MY TENANT?

When transitioning from CSP Direct to CSP Indirect, your Microsoft tenant will show two partner records in the Microsoft 365 Admin Center under Partner Relationships:

  • Direct CSP Partner: The current partner relationship needs to remain in order for Intercept to be able to have management access.
  • New InDirect CSP Partner: Intercept requires a new reseller relationship using a new management tenant because of technical limitations imposed by Microsoft for Indirect and Direct CSP combinations.
  • Indirect Provider: Created when you accept a reseller relationship invitation from the indirect provider.

Partner records allow partners to:

  • Manage your subscriptions and licenses on your behalf.
  • Submit orders, provide support, and handle billing (as permitted by their relationship type).
Having all three records ensures a smooth transition with no interruption to your services. Both partners can fulfil their roles until all subscriptions and relationships are fully transferred.
WHAT IF I HAVE CONCERNS OR QUESTIONS ABOUT THE TRANSITION? Contact us with any questions regarding the transition.
WHY DO I SEE 2 Intercept ENTITIES REFLECTED IN THE AZURE AND GDAP PERMISSIONS and RESELLER RELATIONSHIP?

Intercept requires 2 tenants to comply with the Microsoft requirements to support direct and indirect CSP. Please do not remove these permissions as they can impact the Azure consumption discounts you enjoy.

IS THERE ANY CHANGE IN THE DATA PROCESSING AGREEMENT  WITH INTERCEPT? Yes. Microsoft is already a sub-processor of our customers. TD SYNNEX will now be added as an additional second sub-processor, in the Data Processing Agreement with Intercept.
